The members of the Fire District have spent much of the summer testing and painting the fire hydrants in the area. The reason for this is to ensure and maintain visible and working hydrants. |

1. Friends & Family CPR. This is a four hour class that will teach the employee how to identify a person who has suffered from cardiac arrest, whether it be an adult, child or an infant.. This course will explain the chain of survival and provide the employee the skills and knowledge of how to handle such an emergency properly, and aide in the recovery of a cardiac arrest victim. Recertification for the program occurs every two years. 2. Fire Extinguisher use & maintenance. This is a four hour class that will cover: A. How to prevent fires in the work place B. Getting out alive C. Live fire exercise WHY SHOULD YOU ATTEND THEESE PRORGAMS? The Springdale Fire District is committed to the welfare of our citizens and the preservation of our community, as it reads in our Mission Statement. We believe that the most important part of all the duties that we perform is to educate the public on fire safety and prevention as well as basic medical care for the ill or injured. We do this because an informed and educated public is a happy “customer” that will support the needs of the Fire District. By keeping the public informed and educated about Fire Safety at home and in the work place and by becoming certified in CPR, you will feel more actively involved in the community and have a greater sense of pride and ownership in the role that you play in your neighborhood. COST FOR THE PROGRAMS The cost for the Friends & Family CPR is $45 per person. This will cover the cost for the books and CPR cards that will be provided. This class is offered on the weekend only and is limited to no more than 12 participants per class. The cost for the fire Extinguisher class will be $25 per person and will cover the cost to refill the extinguishers and the live fire exercise. This class is offered on the weekend only and is limited to 20 participants per class.
